Put it this way: The Kane Chronicles are the conceptual winner, but so far, Heroes of Olympus beats them in terms of execution.KateCoombshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05584944601221466789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8144605744535591088.post-33824586690269885462011-07-17T05:34:30.031-07:002011-07-17T05:34:30.031-07:00Kim--Heehee. But if I had to pick between The Lost Hero and Throne of Fire, I'd go with The Lost Hero for sheer reading pleasure. Then, being a nice, patient adult, you can dig into the Kane Chronicles, books 1 and 2 (archaeological pun intended!).KateCoombshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05584944601221466789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8144605744535591088.post-80548681253299989182011-07-17T01:12:43.201-07:002011-07-17T01:12:43.201-07:00What a great idea for a post; though you didn'...What a great idea for a post; though you didn't exactly help me decide where to start!Kim Aippersbachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02556947405633680410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8144605744535591088.post-67517957473080301422011-07-16T08:09:50.963-07:002011-07-16T08:09:50.963-07:00Natalie--Well, there are a lot of cool things goin...Natalie--Well, there are a lot of cool things going on in the Kane books, and I'm hoping Book 3 will be even better. :)

E. Louise--Isn't that Egyptian mythology great? I'd like to see Riordan try his hand at the Norse gods next. It DID drag in places, but I thought overall it was a great success. I haven't had a chance to read the second one yet, but I'm very eager to. I liked The Lost Hero, too, but like you, I found the whole Greek-Roman split to be a little contrived. I DID like Piper's triumph in the end, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8144605744535591088.post-21638358981779098812011-07-16T03:45:45.969-07:002011-07-16T03:45:45.969-07:00Thanks for sharing. I may try the second book in that series though since you said it picked up. Thanks for the review.Natalie Aguirrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756087804171246660noreply@blogger.com
