Awwww. Also Wow!

This isn't like me, but: I'm sort of speechless! Cutest. Thing. Ever. Mostly Bit, but I'm awfully fond of those googly eyes. (If you haven't read my books, they include a magic scarf with lots of little eyes.) Clever Brandy! I would swipe the photos, but I'll let you discover them in their proper place over at Random Musings of a Bibliophile.

In case it isn't obvious, this is why we write...

And now I'm trying to think which book I fell in love with as a child and read over and over. Probably A Little Princess and Ballet Shoes. Also the Narnia books and Harriet the Spy. What about you?

I was pretty excited when I found those googly eyes at Hobby Lobby. Bit really wanted the eyes to have eyelashes. She had to look as authentic as possible. :) The eyes had sticky backs that actually stuck to the yarn on the scarf too, so there was no hot glue gun needed. And they are stuck for sure. They won't be coming off anytime soon.

My book(s) I fell in love with were definitely the Narnia Chronicles. I still remember my grade 3 music teacher lending them to me, and I'm sure I read them at least once a year until I was out of high school (and more times since then). But I loved A Little Princess, too, (and the Lost Prince, did you ever read that one? Soooo romantic!) and later on A Wrinkle in Time and A Ring of Endless Light. Oh, hang on, I can't forget Black Beauty! Read that one till it fell apart. (Hmm. I sense another comment turning into a blog post!)
