Enchanted Inkpot Giveaway, Etc.

The writers who host the Enchanted Inkpot blog are doing their second annual Giveaway Extravaganza, and all you need to do to enter is comment on what upcoming MG and/or YA fantasy books you're looking forward to reading! So head on over and see if you can be the first or second place winner of ELEVEN books in one fell swoop, including possibly (in one of the batches) mine.

On a slightly chagrined note, I will tell you that the sequel to my book, The Runaway Princess, is on sale at Amazon right now. While I'm not sure this is a good sign from my perspective as an author, I figure some of you might want to take advantage and get your hands on a copy of The Runaway Dragon for a lot less than the usual price.

And in that vein, let me just point out that this is a great time of year to buy your nieces and nephews, or sons and daughters and brothers and sisters and spouses and friends and, well, everybody, a book! Or two or three books, for that matter. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who used to love spending the afternoon of December 25th as a child reading the new books Santa brought me for Christmas...

Hee, your books are at the top of my Amazon wish list, but my husband did all his shopping for me LAST week-- I have no idea what he got, but the sale is either bad timing for him or great timing for the rest of my family... hint hint, rest of my family...

Hee is right! Well, my family seems to be defaulting to giving me gift cards to bookstores in recent years for some strange reason...

Actually, we have a new tradition among the adult family members of giving to 1-2 charities each year and then reporting on where we gave. That plus gifts for the under-18 crowd, who are always amazed when I give them BOOKS!

I should mention that I went to look at my wish list after this, and noticed that Runaway Dragon was still priced at the typical Amazon-deal price. When I clicked on it, I saw in the "other editions" box that they were listing an edition called "Hardcover-- Discount Edition" or something, which had the sale price. Maybe they're selling off old editions to make way for a new edition or something?

Amy--Weird. Being a consummate and practiced worrier, I worry that The Runaway Dragon isn't selling as well as The Runaway Princess (yet?). So we'll see! If only I could inherit money from an elderly great-aunt and quit my day job, then criss-cross the country promoting my books with great fanfare and hamminess! (Haven't got a rich elderly great-aunt, but you never know...)

I already bought a copy of The Runaway Dragon for Bit but I may need to take advantage of this sale and buy a copy for me too.
