But first, I wanted to let you know that I have a guest post about how to write fresh up at Linda Gerber's very cool author blog today. Even better, Linda has created a weekly roundup of various posts from around the Blogosphere that offer writing tips. You will find the list of links at the bottom of my post. If you're writing, whether children's books or adult fiction, take a look! (I think my favorite is "Victims Are Not Sexy" with its comments about book-hurling readers and how to make your main character more proactive.)

So, when are we getting the novel about the girl who took off with someone else's baby after prom? :)
I find reading about the writing process interesting, especially when the person writing it is interesting. Thanks for the link.
You're very welcome! I'll be posting about editor Cheryl Klein's new writing process book soon, speaking of which.
To tell you the truth, the prom baby idea's not bad! But I'm busy writing fantasy right now. So maybe next year...
Yesterday I remembered this post and TOOK YOUR ADVICE when I got stuck writing. Worked-- toward the top of the page there's a note to myself that says "Come ON, Amy, it's just brainstorming, just write whatever dumb idea down!" and then I immediately wrote down a dumb idea I'd had for the ending of a book I wrote in high school, which doesn't apply to the current book at all, but it made me laugh and got the ink flowing, and by the bottom of the page I'd stopped brainstorming and started writing because I'd hit something that was suddenly making it all come to life. Awesome! So, thank you!
